The town in the middle of the corridor
Auburndale sits almost exactly halfway between Lakeland and Winter Haven along US 92, and it's built around Lake Ariana and Lake Myrtle rather than a single downtown grid. The Polk Parkway's eastern interchange lands right at the edge of town near mile marker 41, which is why a call from Auburndale often clears faster than one from farther out in the county. A CSX rail line runs through town as well, with an active classification yard on the north side, and rail crossings near downtown occasionally add a few minutes to a response if a train is moving through when our truck is en route.
Lake Myrtle Sports Park, on the north side of town, hosts large softball and soccer tournaments that bring hundreds of out-of-town vehicles into a gravel-and-grass parking situation on a given weekend. Flat tires from debris in the overflow lots and dead batteries from a full day of tailgating are common calls on tournament weekends, and we treat that lot the same as any parking lot call: quote first, then work.
Downtown Auburndale, around Lake Ariana, has narrower streets and older housing stock, similar in feel to a small-town main street rather than a commercial strip. Recker Highway runs south out of town toward Lake Wales, and that stretch gets noticeably more rural, fewer streetlights, longer distance between cross streets.
Where we run most often
- Polk Parkway East interchange. Mile marker 41 area, one of our fastest access points into the eastern county.
- US 92 through town. The commercial corridor connecting Lakeland and Winter Haven.
- Lake Myrtle Sports Park. Tournament weekend parking lot and overflow lot calls.
- Downtown Auburndale. The Lake Ariana area and surrounding older residential streets.
Sub-areas we cover
Real price range
A tow inside Auburndale runs the same $85 to $135 base rate as our in-city Lakeland and Winter Haven calls, since the town sits well within our normal service radius. Roadside calls like a jump-start or lockout run $45 to $80. A tournament-weekend call to the Lake Myrtle overflow lots is priced the same as any other roadside stop, distance and job type, not the event.
Is Auburndale a regular coverage zone or just a pass-through?
Regular zone. Its spot on US 92 and next to the Polk Parkway East interchange actually makes it one of our quicker secondary-zone runs, not slower than average.
Do you cover Lake Myrtle Sports Park during tournaments?
Yes. Give us the specific lot or field number when you call, since the complex is large and spans multiple gravel and grass overflow areas.
What if a train is blocking the CSX crossing when I call?
Tell dispatch if you know a train is through town. It sometimes adds a few minutes to routing around downtown, and we'd rather plan the route than surprise you with a late arrival.
