Motorcycle towing, done on a flatbed every time

A bike is not a small car. We load with a flatbed and soft tie-downs, never a wheel-lift and chains, so your fairing, exhaust, and forks come home the way they left.

Why a bike needs a different truck

A car has four contact points and a frame built to be lifted. A motorcycle has two wheels, a center of gravity that shifts the second the bike leans, and body panels that crack if a strap lands in the wrong spot. Florida's year-round riding season means we run motorcycle calls in every month, not just summer, and I-4's shoulder debris, blown truck tire fragments especially, is a real cause of flats and sudden low-sides on bikes in a way it just isn't for a passenger car with four tires and more rubber to spare.

Our flatbed uses a wheel chock to hold the front tire upright the second the bike rolls on, then cambuckle straps at the frame or triple clamp, never a hook through the wheel or a strap across a fairing panel. That's the difference between a bike that arrives the way it left and one that shows up with a cracked windscreen or a bent lever.

What we tow

  • Cruisers and touring bikes. Full loaded weight secured with heavy-duty cambuckle straps front and rear.
  • Sportbikes. Low front fairings need extra ramp care, our drivers know to walk the bike up slow, not gun a winch.
  • Dirt bikes and dual-sports. No kickstand needed, we chock and strap standing or on a stand you provide.
  • Trikes and sidecar rigs. Call ahead with the width, some need extra ramp width or a different tie-down pattern.

What makes it harder

A bike down on its side after a low-side or a slide is the trickiest call we run. Righting it wrong can bend a lever, crack a fairing, or worse, twist a frame that was otherwise fine. Our driver checks fluid leaks and frame position before lifting, and if there's any question about internal damage from the fall, we tell you that before loading rather than after. A bike that's simply stalled or won't start is a straightforward flatbed load, usually done in ten minutes once the truck is positioned. Rain is the other variable, a wet ramp with a bike that's already lost traction once that day is not a job to rush.

How it works

  1. Call and tell us it's a motorcycle, plus the make and whether it's upright or down.
  2. We quote a flat price and confirm a flatbed with tie-down capacity is being sent.
  3. Dispatch gives you a real ETA based on which truck is actually closest.
  4. Driver chocks the front wheel and straps at load-rated points, not the fairing or exhaust.
  5. You choose the drop-off, your home, a shop, or a dealer's service bay.
  6. Payment on delivery, card or cash.

A straightforward motorcycle tow inside Lakeland or Winter Haven typically runs 20 to 30 minutes once the truck is on scene. A down-bike recovery from a ditch or the I-4 shoulder takes longer, usually 30 to 50 minutes, since the driver has to assess the bike's position and any fluid leaks before loading.

One limit worth knowing: Florida doesn't require motorcycle owners to carry no-fault PIP insurance the way car owners must, which changes how a claim gets handled after a crash. Ask dispatch if you need help understanding what that means for your specific accident before we tow.

Real price range

A standard motorcycle tow inside Lakeland or Winter Haven city limits runs $95 to $160 for the flatbed load and base mileage, a bit higher than a car tow because of the specialized chock and strap setup. Extended mileage past the base radius runs the same $3.50 to $4.50 per mile as our car rates. A down-bike recovery from a ditch, median, or the I-4 shoulder, which takes more time and care to assess before loading, runs $150 to $275.

Will a regular tow truck damage my bike?

A wheel-lift tow truck built for cars can, since it's designed to drag two wheels off the ground with the bike balanced on the other two, which isn't how a motorcycle is built to move. We use a flatbed with a chock and soft tie-downs instead.

My bike is down on its side, what do you do first?

Our driver checks for fluid leaks and frame position before righting it. If something looks bent or cracked, we tell you before loading so you know what you're dealing with once it's at the shop.

Do you tow dirt bikes and off-road bikes?

Yes, including from off-road areas near the Green Swamp side of the county. Call ahead with the location, some spots need a truck that can get closer than others.

Bike down? Call (863) 500-8467, we send a flatbed, not a chain.
